My mother was a Stolz.– My ancestor Josef Stolz was born 1750 in Unterweiler, near Ulm, Germany. He was a farmer. I have found no info on his wife or other children. Your Josef Stolz may very well be the son of my Josef Stolz, but I have no proof. We are decendants of Josef Stolz’s son Raimund, born November 11, 1783 in Unterweiler near Ulm (died Oct. 20, 1840) He also was a farmer and was married to Franziska Lehner. I have a church record copy, on which he and his wife are listed as parents of Johann Baptist Stolz, brewmaster and soldier. I know that my Josef Stolz’s Father was Georg Stolz, but that is where I got stuck. E-Mail

My father is Paul Stolz from Orange County, New York. His Father is also Paul Stolz. He is from the family of John Stolz in Germany. The last relative I know of is My great Uncle Karl Stolz of Wurzburg, Germany. He is the youngest brother of my grandfather Paul Stolz. Karl remained in Germany, while his siblings (Mary, Lenchen, Otto, and Paul) came to America in the early 1900s. I have traced my tree back to George Stolz b: Abt 1770 in Kottweiler, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany and married to Margaretha VIVIER b: Unk also from Kottweiler, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany who d: abt. 1812. The first of my tree to come to the USA and also have the additional “T” in the name was Adam STOLTZ b: 1790, Kottweiler, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany and d: Dec 11, 1853 Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was married to Maria Elizabetha Moritz, b: Mar 02, 1795, Schönenberg, Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and d: Mar 20, 1860 Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA. Both are buried at St Benedict’s cemetery, Carroltown, PA, USA. That is as far back as I have gotten. I was stationed in Germany for many years while in the Army and if I had known this back then I may have gotten much more information since I know the area well. E-Mail
